Tuition Support

The Sandpoint Waldorf School values an economically diverse school community and affirms that financial considerations should not solely determine who can and cannot attend our school. We strive to make Waldorf education accessible to all children regardless of economic circumstances and celebrate the gifts that a diverse community brings to us. Our tuition support programs help make this possible.

Tuition Adjustment Program (TAP)

The Tuition Adjustment Program is for families who need significant financial assistance to afford tuition. It is designed for families who require more than a 10% adjustment and are willing to go through a detailed financial review that includes an online application which includes tax documentation, a paper application and an in-person meeting with the TAP Committee. Any family enrolling a child in grades 1 through 8 or the final year of kindergarten may submit an application for tuition adjustment.

TAP Process

  1. FACTS Application – Families complete a confidential online application through FACTS. The school does not receive details from this application, and the $30 application fee is reimbursed.

  2. SWS Supplemental TAP Application – Families submit additional paperwork to the school.

  3. TAP Committee Meeting – Applicants meet with two TAP Committee members to discuss their financial needs and the school’s budget. We recommend that all parents/guardians attend.

  4. Review & Decision – The TAP Committee assesses all applications based on available TAP funds and family needs. Families are informed of any approved adjustments.

All TAP application details remain confidential between the family, the TAP Committee, and the Business Director. Faculty members and staff are not privy to TAP discussions. For more information or to apply for TAP, please contact Kirsten at khollan@sandpointwaldorf.org.
