All volunteers working with SWS students during school-sponsored events, in-class volunteer work, field trip drivers, and volunteers for overnight field trips are required to undergo an Idaho State Department of Education Fingerprint Background Investigation Check. SWS must receive clearance from the Dept of Ed before a volunteer can volunteer with the class.
Please note that ALL visitors, whether volunteering or visiting, must check in at the front office.
To begin the process, please download the Background Packet. Please note the required fingerprint cards could not be scanned into the packet. The cards are available in the main office at SWS.

The Parent Handbook serves as the primary guide for our parent/guardian community, encompassing details on school policies, administrative frameworks, and essential information. We request all parents/guardians to thoroughly peruse this comprehensive document in readiness for the upcoming school year. The Parent Handbook for the 2022-2023 academic session has undergone revisions, and we encourage both new and returning families to acquaint themselves with this latest version.

Volunteering at the Sandpoint Waldorf school is a meaningful way to connect with others, learn new skills, and make a positive impact. We invite you to join us in our mission to provide a holistic education that nurtures the intellectual, creative, and spiritual potential of each student.
Involvement of all parents is necessary for maintaining the health and stability of the school. We ask families to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per school year to assist the school. Your involvement can take the form of sharing as well as helping with specific projects and classroom activities, collective talents in such areas as committee work, building and grounds maintenance, and fundraising. For more volunteer opportunities please complete our interest form. Click Here
Along with helping in your child’s classroom, parents will be expected to volunteer for the following:
● Common Area Cleaning: We ask families to clean a common area of the school once a school year. Provided with instructions and supplies, this will take approximately 2-3 hours.
● Summer All-site Work Day (Typically the third Saturday in August): Volunteers assist the school with minor repairs, cleaning and moving of furniture to prepare for the new school year.
● Spring Clean Up Work Day (Typically the first Thursday in May): Saying hello to Spring, volunteers assist with the clean up of school grounds after a North Idaho Winter.
● Assist with each of the following:
Winter Faire (First Saturday in December): Volunteers assist with decorating, preparing and serving food, craft making, and clean up.
May Faire (First Friday in May): Volunteers assist the school by creating, and volunteering at activity booths.
Annual Spring Auction (Typically in May): This event is our largest fundraiser for our school. Volunteers assist with planning, preparing and running this event.
